nate day has arrived!

well, i can't believe it! my nate berkus show segment airs today! i have been getting lots of calls from friends and family on the east coast and midwest as it has already aired in their cities! it won't be on here in l.a. for several hours... but if you want to watch it over and over again online you can go here....  my sister sent me the photos i used for this post... apparently my little nephew was very frustrated that aunt holly wouldn't wave back to him... how stinkin' cute is that??? and how cool does my bedroom wall look recreated on the nate set?

so in my last post i mentioned the short amount of time i had to prep for my appearance and shoot my video, while also starting and finishing some diy projects that i felt that i HAD to get done before america saw my apartment.... well, added to that i made another brass pendant light to fed ex to the nate folks for them to use on set.  and there it is, hanging above nate and me! love it!  i think they should use it as a permanent fixture!

this has to have been the coolest experience of my life.... and i haven't even turned 40 yet! and for the rest of eternity on thenateshow.com i will be known as "39 year old design intern holly." i love it!
and a great big shout out to my friend/ house proud cameraman john! you rock for spending the hours it took to shoot the darn thing while working with the lack of lighting... i am forever grateful... xoxo

oh and i think i might have to photoshop santa hats on nate and me in this one and use it for my christmas card! and then my friend in the audience being invited on stage to sample curtis stone's french toast! what a fun day!

so, for those of you just tuning in and wanting to know more about me you can by going here...

until next time...

the almost 40 year old intern

  5. How exciting! I just started reading your blog, from the beginning, about a week ago. I really admire how you were able to do something you love after being laid off. I am 45 yrs old and I love decorating. But my job is not in that field and I never felt confident or talented enough to try. I always wanted to be a designer's assistant. I do know one day I will volunteer or try to do something in that field. Your blog has encouraged me to try.
