motel mondays: part 23

well, i know i am a little bit late with today's post.  i was caught up in a meeting with one of my newest clients.  she's two.  sweet and sassy and she had a lot of opinions on what her room should look like. so far my youngest client yet!  and i am super excited to be working with her and her mom, sister and brother! i will reveal more on that in the coming weeks as i am creating some exciting stuff for them and i can't wait to see how it all turns out!

today's vintage motel is the royal santa monica motel located on santa monica blvd.  i love the super rustic signs surrounding the building!  the faded colors are great!!

i spent this weekend decoupaging thousands of stickers onto a piece of furniture.  as i was doing this, i kept asking myself why i decided to take on such a tedious project for my first foray into the world of modpodge...  why couldn't i have started with larger sheets of paper in a random pattern instead of the one i chose??? well, it is too late now... at least i am finally seeing my vision come to life and i have to say the results are gonna be pretty cool!

so, while taking a sunday morning break from all that decoupaging, i hit one of my favorite flea markets. i am obsessed  with these groovy vintage movie set lights that i keep seeing around.  i love them and am hoping i can talk one of my clients into one!  super sculptural, groovy and unique!
for those of you just tuning in and wanting to know more about me you can by going here... and if you didn't already know... i created a facebook page... check it out and "like" it! and follow me on twitter and you can even follow my boards on pinterest too!

until next time...

  1. These motels remind me of the cheap hotel in victoria london we stayed at during one of our day tours. They have their own rustic charm, don't they?
